Why do you cry?

recorded June 2002

track 1

track 1

Words to track 1:

Why do you cry, why do you lament, why do you grieve so?
I long for the summer so green, for the life that was.... why were you taken from me?

Why do you cry, why do you lament, why do you grieve so?
I long for my home of wood, for my well of bricks....
why were you taken from me?

Why do you cry, why do you lament, why do you grieve so?
I long for my hills and my valleys, for my stones and for my willows.

Why do you cry, why do you lament, why do you grieve so?
I long for my orchard of plums, for the brook that babbled so.... why were you taken from me?

Why do you cry, why do you lament, why do you grieve so?
I long for the summer so green, for you, oh village, village of mine...why were you taken from me?

Translated on 11/21/2003 by: Anna Romancio Szczupak whose 6 family members were murdered in Terka July 11, 1946 by communist soldiers and the rest were forcibly exhiled with the rest of the village the following Spring to Northern Poland.
