Lemko Wedding

Лемківске Весіля Штефана Шкымби з Волівця

Sixteen sides of early Lemko-Rusyn recordings in America

The recording

Stefan Shkimba and his company recorded a dramatized Lemko wedding for the immigrant community in New York during the late 1920s. The sixteen parts preserve voices, music and scenes of wedding customs. This listening guide links to the single continuous recording published on LemkoHUB, rather than duplicating the audio.

Recording period: late 1920s (individual side dates vary; see discography for confirmed session details). Listening edition: the sixteen-part program assembled on LemkoHUB.

The original shellac program comprised eight double-sided 78-rpm records. This table is a listening order, not a claim about individual catalog-number pairings; those can be added from the physical discography.
