Historical Data: Mostys'kyj Deanery. The masonry church was built in 1903, replacing an older wooden church of the same name, which had been built in 1768. Nothing remains of the building which was destroyed after World War II.

In 1785 there were 16.02 sq. km., 296 Ukrainian Catholics, 95 Latin rite Catholics and 15 Jews.

BANYCJA (Bannica), povit Hrybiv

STS. COSMAS AND DAMIAN

Historical Data: Mushyns'kyj Deanery, then Hrybivs'kyj Deanery after World War I. At
first designated as a chapel, the church became a parish in 1887. The wooden church, with 3
banjas and a wooden bell tower, was built in 1797/8 and was renovated in 1922. At present it is
being used by Latin rite Catholics. A four room masonry rectory was built in 1897.

In 1589, the Bishop of Krakow donated land for the support of a Ukrainian Catholic priest, and in 1659, because the original document had been burned, the Bishop of Krakow confirmed the possession of the parish and all of the land, as well as that of the filial church in Chertyzhne to the pastor, o. Ivan.36
In 1934 the parish was incorporated into the Administration of Lemkivshchyna.
