Documents, inscriptions, photographs and contemporary publications should be read in the language and context in which they were created.
Memories and eyewitness/community accounts can preserve information unavailable elsewhere. Where possible, LEMKO.org will identify who supplied the account, when it was recorded, and what is independently corroborated.
Academic and historical writing interprets evidence. Different researchers and institutions may reach different conclusions; those differences should be attributed rather than hidden.
Modern explanatory notes added during the remaster should be clearly separated from original source material so future readers can tell the difference.
