Even though the tserkva is only 90 years old, one can tell, from the centuries old oak trees, that ecclesiastical structures stood here for centuries. One of the old oaks is about 23 feet in circumference. In front of the tserkva there is a monument to the British Admiral Nelson Keith, who died here in 1898. The tserkva was closed for a long time but now it is being restored and used by the Polish Roman Catholic church.
