The parish was initiated here by Ivan Korostens'kyj in 1558, when he obtained a deed of land. By 1909, about 10 percent of the population had emigrated to America for temporary employment or for permanent residence. Just before W.W.II, the parish counted almost 1800 souls. The tserkva deteriorated, almost to the point of no return, after the Ukrainian population was expelled. The Polish Roman Catholics obtained this Ukrainian tserkva in 1971 and carried out extensive renovations in 1986, with the results you see on the photographs.
