Born in Chornoriky was Semen Voznyak, an attorney by profession. He became rich enough to sponsor the construction of the tserkva seen in the picture. Later on, in 1933, he sponsored an iconostasis, carved out of wood by the Hutsul artisans. The tserkva exhibits fine ecclesiastical form and was undergoing restoration during our visit. Under a tree, near the tserkva, is a typical roadside shrine. The tserkva is used by Polish Roman Catholics.
